Rigorous learning can be fun!

This Monday we went outside to learn numbers with Year 1. A lot of role plays include numbers so it’s a must to know them! We went off to the basketball court and played hopscotch. The first step when learning to count is obviously to start in order “un, deux, trois, quatre, …”. It is more challenging to be able to identify random numbers … So to support differentiation some of them had numbers in order from 1 to 20...

Cooperation !

This Monday morning to start the week our warm up activity was link to the skill “be able to give and follow directions in town”. Jules had the great idea to go outside to practise giving and following direction. It was a great idea to work on our French and cooperation skills! Thanks Jules!  ...

Football – Unit 2

In Year 6, our main focus has been football which has seen us learn, develop and grow our ball skills individually and in team setups. Our next target is to apply these skills in medium team setups of 7- 9-aside players. At the end of this unit, the children will take part in an inter house football competition where children will get a chance to showcase their learning at a competitive level in front of their peers, parents and teachers....

Mini Football – Unit

In Year 4, our main focus has been football which has seen us learn and grow our ball skills especially in dribbling, passing, shooting and ball control. Our next target is to try and apply these skills in small and medium team setups of  6 and 7 -aside players. We will cultivate this unit with the inter-house football competition where children will get a chance to showcase their skills at a competitive level in front of their peers, parents...

Movement through dance – Unit 2

In Year 2, we have just completed our dance unit. This was an exciting adventure where we learnt the reasons why people dance as well as different forms of dance. Children got the opportunity of choreographing their own dance and called it the Jungle dance. As a way of celebrate the children’s learning, children performed this dance at the Friday assembly in front of their parents, teachers and fellow students. In year 1 we have just completed our dance unit. This was an exciting adventure where we learnt the reasons why people dance as well as different forms of dance. Children got the opportunity of choreographing their own dance as well. We are now turning the wheels of learning to mini football which will see us learn simple ball skills like dribbling, passing and shooting and this will culminate into the inter-house football competition in mid March. ...
