Ideas!!

•  Ground rules

•  Make ground rules as a group. Display.

•  These can be referred to and added to regularly, if necessary.

  •  Observing with cameras

•  Choose a theme, for example sand and water play, playing together, the seaside.

•  Using disposable cameras let parents take photographs of their children involved in activities around the theme.

•  Talk about what the children are doing and the learning and development that is going on.

•  Encourage adults to join in with their children's activities. Take photographs of each other playing with the children.

•  Make a display of the photographs.

•  Activity cards

•  See attached example.

•  Encourage parents/carers to join in 2 or 3 activities each session.

•  Feedback on child's achievements to the group.

•  Weekly focus

For example:

•  Language development in the dough area   

•  Making books

•  When I was a baby I could…….

When I was 1 I could…… etc.

When I am 3 I will be able to……….

Encourages parents and children to talk together.
