On Thursday 31st January, it was Open Morning at Ambrosoli – a chance for parents, relatives, and anyone interested to come along to school and see what kind of learning we get up to. In Reception we were very happy to see that the majority of children had a parent come along to spend some time with us, some children even had both their parents come along!
The parents who spent time with us in Reception got to see a variety of activities from all the seven Foundation Stage areas of learning – Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, Physical Development, Literacy, Mathematical Development, Understanding of the world and Expressive arts and design.
These activities included cooking, making playdough, mark making under a table, pinning hair on a pumpkin and learning how to braid it, working on letter formation using light boards, playing a cooperative game blindfolded, playing in the Reception hospital, and an addition activity using dot stamps. Parents also had the opportunity to join in with a game of Buzz Off and a PSHE lesson – it was lovely to see them take part in our ‘calm time’ and our circle time where we discussed resilience.
Thank you to everyone who came along to spend time with us. We can’t wait to see you again at our next open morning!
