Reading Buddies

Year 3 have joined with Reception class to enjoy books together. The year 3 children are taking responsibility to choose books that may be of interest to the Reception class children and then read stories to them. Brainwaves!

Our first IPC unit is Brainwaves and to open our topic discussions we talked about the types of learning which can take place in the brain. The children felt a jelly brain, delved their hands into it to find types of learning and also observed learning around the school. Skittle Maths!

Year 2 have been working on data handling for the last couple of weeks. They have been reading and creating graphs and tables. Today the children have been making their own pie charts using a packet of skittles to help them. The pie charts represented how much of each colour was in a packet. Victoria Nyanza Sailing Club

This week Year 2 went on a trip to investigate rainforest and lakeside habitats as part of their IPC learning. The children ventured through the forest to find monkeys, a forest squirrel, insects, mushrooms, beehives and more. They then investigated the animals and plants which live under the water in the lake to see how they have adapted to this environment. KS1 Production

Year 2 lead the KS1 production of The Goblin Next Door. They put on a fantastic performance which was a feast for the eyes as well as the ears. From naughty goblins to sympathetic squirrels the children acted with great energy and enjoyment. Well done year 2 children! ...
