In year 3 we have been writing book reviews using persuasive language and paragraphs.

Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls by Elena Favilli and Frencesca Cavallo

Review by Elise Leal

This book is about women and how they’re famous for amazing things they have done. They’re many short biographies about women. It is fun to read because I like hearing amazing stories. It makes me feel proud that I am a girl. My favourite person is Alicia Alonso because she is blind and I respect her work.

If you like biographies then you will like this book about women and it might inspire you to stand up for your self. I could read it over and over again! I would recommend to people who like this book to go to the next version.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

Review by Hanna

Harry Potter is  wizard and it is his second year at his school or witch craft and wizardry, Hogwarts. Harry discovers great secrets and had lots of help  from his friends to solve problems. Harry and his friends Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, are the main characters. When they talk about something really important it makes me excited.

This book is full of secrets, adventures and lots of magic. My favourite part was when Harry goes to open the chamber and finds a girl called Ginny living on the floor. I like that part because it was very cool how he opened the chamber. The scariest part was when he fought the big mighty baslic. If you start reading this book you can put it down. The author should definitely be commended.

I think year 3 and above children should read this book. People who like adventures and magic should also read it. I think that the hype is justified because it is my favourite book in the world.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

Review by Olivia

The book is about Greg, who goes on holiday with his friend Rowley. They go on holiday but Greg says he wants to nap. He does not want to nap but does not know how to swim and so he wants to stay behind. The characters have short hair and little eyes with tall legs. I like them because they are funny and they always make mistakes.

I like the book because it was crazy and hilarious. My favourite part was when he did not wantt o o down to the beach. It was funny when he went under a wave and chocked on water and then before the other wave came he quickly ran out. If you haven’t read this book you are missing out! I would love my family to read this book because I want them to see how funny it is.
