Safe Internet Day 11th February, 2020

On Tues 11th Feb, the children from MP1, MP2 and MP3 were involved in a rigorous discussion on how to be safe and responsible internet usage in school and at home under the theme “Together for a better internet”. I’m Alive_We are photographers Taking and editing better photos of living things in our environment

In this unit, the children review photos online, practise using a digital camera, take photos to fit the IPC theme I’m Alive, edit their photos, and then select their best images to include in a shared portfolio. Researching Ancient Civilizations

We have been learning about Ancient civilizations for our I.P.C unit ‘Time Detectives’. The children selected which ancient society they would like to research further from Ancient Egyptians, Romans, Mayan or the Ancient Chinese civilization. They then developed a mind map consisting of all the questions they would like to investigate, before selecting the top 5. A trip to Italy!

On Thursday last week the children went on an excursion to the Italian Restaurant – Pizza Italia in Bugolobi. They thoroughly enjoyed the bus trip there even if it was just around the corner. After a lesson with the Head Chef about the wonders and specialties of Italy, the children got into making, designing, creating. They designed their own pizza before making one for themselves. Wall Climbing

One of the fun activities Reception enjoys at school is wall climbing. Without their knowledge, the children develop muscle strength, hand and eye coordination, confidence, self-esteem, and spatial awareness through wall climbing. Virtual Trip to Israel

Today Year One was lucky enough to board the plane and head on a virtual trip to Israel. We visited the four seas, including the Red Sea, the Dead Sea, the Sea of Galilee and finally the Mediterranean Sea. Each Sea had its own wonders and specialty.
