Safe Internet Day 11th February, 2020

On Tues 11th Feb, the children from MP1, MP2 and MP3 were involved in a rigorous discussion on how to be safe and responsible internet usage in school and at home under the theme “Together for a better internet”. Researching Ancient Civilizations

We have been learning about Ancient civilizations for our I.P.C unit ‘Time Detectives’. The children selected which ancient society they would like to research further from Ancient Egyptians, Romans, Mayan or the Ancient Chinese civilization. They then developed a mind map consisting of all the questions they would like to investigate, before selecting the top 5. Year One Time Detectives

Today Year One were Detectives investigating a variety of items from different time periods using encrypted clues. They dug for bones, came across varying tracks, uncovered artifacts from ancient civilizations and they even discovered an old explorers map in the library. Hanukkah in Year One

Today we had a special visitor, who talked to the children about Hanukkah a traditional Jewish celebration. They learnt about the background of Hanukkah and how Jewish people celebrate the 8 day festival of light by lighting a candle each day and placing it on the menorah. They also eat food that is cooked in olive oil as a way of celebrating the miracle of the oil lasting 8 days. ...
