Some of you will know that ISU have closed today and are beginning online learning with their students from tomorrow ( Wednesday). We, along with most other international schools in Kampala, are waiting to hear the President’s speech at 2pm tomorrow before making a decision about when to close the school. I am still hoping that we will be able to remain open until Friday but if the President says that we must close tomorrow then, of course, we will do so. I will communicate our decision to parents as soon as I can as I recognise that this is a stressful situation for everyone and plans need to be made.
We will hold our Parent Partnership meeting in the school hall tomorrow at 8am and Teachers Alfred and Steven will be leading some workshops for parents who would like to understand a little more about Google Classroom, the online learning platform that we will be using to continue teaching the children during a school closure. One workshop will be at around 8.45am and another at 2.45pm.
On a happy note our MP 2 children did a wonderful job this evening with their production ‘ Go for Gold’. They have worked so hard on making this such a fantastic performance, I am so pleased that we managed to give them the time to present it to their parents and friends. I was very proud of them. They will do one more production at 1.30pm tomorrow. If you have missed it, please come along, it will lift your heart for an hour!
I will be in touch as soon as we have something definite to report following the President’s address tomorrow.
