Well qualified and experienced Early Years Learning Assistant

Ambrosoli International School, Kampala, Uganda

We seek to appoint an Early Years Learning assistant for a January 2020 start. Early Years Assistants at Ambrosoli International School support a child-centred, enquiry based learning program which is focussed on a play-based approach.

The role: Ambrosoli International School seeks exceptional, well qualified and experienced early years assistants to join our team in January 2020. The successful candidate will demonstrate a dynamic and creative approach to learning support and will be enthusiastic about play and child development. We are looking for a special individual who will be happy to get involved in all areas of learning and brings new ideas to an ever-growing team. 

Person specification: 

  • graduate ( preferably in early childhood related field) 
  • Enthusiastic, energetic and passionate early years educator 
  • works as a member of a team in a collaborative manner; 
  • understands inquiry and play-based approaches to learning; 
  • committed to contributing to a holistic approach to education centred on individual needs 
  • is enthusiastic about opportunities to be involved in the extra-curricula life of the school 
  • promotes an enjoyable, well organised and inspiring learning environment 
  • reflective and continually strives to improve 

Preferable: 

  • experience of teaching the EYFS 
  • experience of working at an international school

A willingness to contribute to the thriving extra-curricular life of the school is also required. Management positions may be available for well qualified and experienced teachers. 

Person specification: 

  • graduate with qualified teacher status (or equivalent) 
  • enthusiastic and innovative teacher with a genuine passion for teaching, who can motivate and inspire students using a variety of strategies; 
  • works as a member of a team in a collaborative manner; 
  • understands enquiry and play-based approaches to learning; 
  • committed to contributing to a holistic approach to education 
  • is enthusiastic about opportunities to be involved in the extra-curricular life of the school

  • reflective and continually strives to improve performance 
  • confident in sharing classroom practice, educational theories and ideas with their peers 

Preferable: 

  • ( for primary teachers) experience of teaching in a school/s using the IPC 
  • 2 years of experience working at an international school
